Zoe Ford is a multidisciplinary artist from the south of England with a lifelong passion for creative expression. She studied at Norwich University of the Arts, where she developed a creative voice that continues to guide her practice. Working across sculpture, drawing, and mixed media, Ford explores themes of identity, emotion, and societal issues, with a particular focus on resilience and the human experience.
As a working-class artist, she has navigated socio-economic barriers while developing her practice, experiences that have strengthened her resourcefulness and commitment to creating meaningful, authentic work. Personal experiences, including periods of mental health difficulty, have also shaped the emotional depth and perspective of her work. Her practice is grounded in lived experience and engages with broader cultural and social conversations.

"My practice is inspired by a diverse range of sources, from fleeting thoughts to profound personal experiences, and societal commentary. I explore how the human condition, the complexities of the mind, and our environment intertwine to shape our shared and individual identities.
I am drawn to the contrasts in life—the connections that bind us together and the unique traits that set us apart. Through my work, I seek to provoke curiosity, offering viewers a chance to engage with both the subject matter and the creative process.
I embrace a wide range of styles and mediums in my work, driven by an unyielding curiosity and a desire to challenge myself creatively. For me, artistic expression thrives in the freedom to move between different forms—whether figurative, abstract or surreal—and to work with a variety of materials.
Each new style or medium I engage with reflects a different facet of my creative vision and my evolving perspective. Whether it's the fluidity of painting, the tactile nature of sculpture, or the texture of fabric, each medium offers its own unique way to communicate complex emotions, thoughts, and experiences. This versatility allows me to explore the depths of human existence from multiple perspectives and embrace the challenges that come with creative reinvention.
